This is a climber  with green bean pods that look like a large clove.  Almost totally extinct, this variety used to be common in the in Tamil Nadu and Kerela till three decades ago.  Very easy to grow.  The recipe for cooking this delicious vegetable was first recorded in 1951 by Meenakshi Ammal in her book “Samaithu Paar”
